Both our Argentine National Constitution and the American Constitution guarantee certain unalienable rights to all their citizens. These include the right to work, engage in lawful business, and trade; to petition the authorities; to enter, remain in, travel through and leave the national territory at will; to publish ideas without fear of censorship; to make, use of and dispose of one’s own personal property; to assemble for useful purposes; to profess one’s religion freely; to teach and to learn.
Choose one of the questions below and write a short essay not longer than one A4 page:
1. Choose the three most important rights. Which of the above is the most important right? Which is the second most important right? The third? Explain why you chose these three.
2. Have you ever had a time in your life when you felt constrained in the exercise of any of these rights? Or have you heard any story in your family where one of these fundamental rights was violated? What happened?
